Day 20 Flagstaff,AZ to Grand Canyon to stay for three days.

Day 20
Today we woke up at 7am. Geoff and I left to grocery shop, just before 8am. We arrived home at 8:45am. We began the packing up process. It takes forever to pack up the food bins and kitchen supplies, then sort the clothes for 4 days time, then pack up all the little stuff, then pack up the coolers, then compress the sleeping bags and pillows into the bins! Lastly, we refilled two water bottles for each of us, then the water jugs we use to refill during the day. We drink a lot! We have to at this elevation. It takes about 2.5 hours to get this all done. Meanwhile, in there I am tracking each kid down to feed them, brush their teeth, gather their little things, and I give them their souvenirs from yesterday. Each kid gets assigned for 30 minutes to entertain Zack, help Geoff and Doug unpack the trailer and repack the trailer, or help Martty and I pack up.  A good thing today, I found a bag of clothes that were have been missing for a week! I was so glad!!!
We are finally in the SUV and on our way. We accidentally headed south toward Phoenix, AZ. Our navigator, Geoff, was in the back seat watching the Brady Bunch episode, where they go on a road trip to the Grand Canyon. That is our destinations again today! We left our rental house, and are on our way for three nights to the Grand Canyon. We are all hungry for lunch, it is 1pm. I convinced Geoff to go for lunch out and about, rather than unpack EVERYTHING I just packed up 1 hour ago! The kids are glad! So am I! The adventure at this point begins...we ended up back in Flagstaff, AZ to eat McDonald's! We all laughed, after there was a bit of yelling. Our trip to the Grand Canyon began after lunch. We drove about 2 hours and arrived! When we arrived, we went to the main visitor center. During our confusing day, we forgot to keep Zack drinking water. We are over 7000 feet high. We all keep needing to drink water, otherwise our noses and lips and insides dry out quick! Zack got sick, cold and clammy and complaining. I got him cool quickly and water. He bounced back fast and was soon running around! We checked into our lodge and settled in. We ate dinner, and headed out to the Bright Angel Trail. We only did 1/2 a mile down, but that was almost too much for Beca. It was cool and a nice temp. It was a pretty sunset too! Then off to bed with tired kids!
